History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Roland has worked very hard to control his curse. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Robert was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
