He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Dilettante. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and expand his business
