His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Roland took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up sai and armor he uses now. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the north. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Butcher for the past few years.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and many illithids want him driven away
