History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Anselm was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Adelard was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. A freak accident while working with his Dilettante father left him crippled. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: Shane speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. He is clearly well-traveled and educated. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Shane was raised in a hard working conservative environment. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature monstrous two handed axe.
