History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He misses his glory days as an athlete. He does not mind his job, but it is boring in comparison. He has a habit of throwing himself into exceedingly dangerous situations.

History: Born to a Barkeep, his father struggled to pay the bills. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Personality: He believes there is no problem he cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. He is a bit of a xeno-phobe, disliking non-Humans.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. He is always in debt, since he spends his money on lavish parties and gifts for friends

History: Gilbert hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Gilbert alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: A deep hatred of illithids; and many illithids want him driven away

Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Shoemaker. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: Bertram lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He tends to his Shoemaker job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shoemaker responsibilities is difficult.
