History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His parents enrolled him in a Barbarian school at a young age so that he could practice his martial talents. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Description: This petite short man is perpetually holding a sweet of some kind. He wears clothing that is held on in multiple layers but all of it is in poor condition, marred by sweets. His blonde hair, when down, is lengthy. His face possesses mild wrinkles. His smile is extraordinarily sincere though he does not smile often.

Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. Bertram is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his sisters into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Bertram was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.
