History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Bertram was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

He refers to his adoptive father for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 3 years.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Cartwright born in the past three hundred years. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and to be a laborer again

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. Gerard was born on a far southern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Ploughman. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world
