History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. At some point he was captured by illithids and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

History: He comes from a rich western family. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

He found a children's book about a Human Expert who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
