History: Hugh lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

His parents enrolled him in a Commoner school at a young age so that he could practice his psionic talents. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Stylist arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
