He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Glassblower. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

His skin is also unnaturally pale. His head has been shaved. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines violet.

Personality: He has always had a great fascination with Human culture. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of gnolls once and for all.

History: A child with a great deal of singing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting gnolls, the young Ralf began to lead the lost caravan. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: A deep hatred of gnolls.

Personality: He is overprotective of those who hire his services. He refers to his adoptive mother for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Born to a Navigator, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: Marry his sister to traveling adventurers; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He has all his life been fascinated with poetry.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: He was raised in a desert tribe. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He bought a axe and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.
