Personality: He believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. Around other people he will do his best to conceal his emotions and appear jolly.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Farmer work with an outfit from a few towns over. Farmer work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. History: Born to a Sailor, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Adelard was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Adelard was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
