He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally

History: He was born into a rich family. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: He is greedy; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg

History: He comes from a rich western family. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends; and money/treasure
