He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Cook. History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. When Bertram reached his early adolescence his Human mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
