History: Born to a Cook, his father struggled to pay the bills. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

History: Ernest lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: Wants to raise his children well; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
