His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the forest due to the painful memories there. Alex took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up quarterstaff and armor he uses now. Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Manfred embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. After a long history of fighting, Manfred and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, William grew up listening to his father's many stories. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving William alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.
