History: Roland was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Assassin hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Scribe they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Servant, and he later adopted a second son.
