History: Nicholas hails from a village terrorized by orcs. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He tends to his Crown-heir job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it

He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bertram fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and he wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away
