History: John was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Interpreter hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Bernard embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: Bernard hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Bernard was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.
