History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Healer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Thomas was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Thomas's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

History: Shane lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has never given up on his writing dream.
