He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Theobald was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: Gilbert was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. Gilbert was orphaned to a temple shortly after his birth. He was raised by the temple staff to care always for others above himself and to hold his god always in his heart. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.
