He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by drow. Richard was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the drow.

Chad's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city.
