History: Shane hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Balimaar took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up shield and armor he uses now. After a long history of fighting, Balimaar and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Butcher. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Further expansion of business; and balancing his hectic life and new butcher responsibilities is difficult
