When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Unemployed hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Bernard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Bernard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
