His father taught him the rudiments of the Healer arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. After a long history of fighting, Tim and his spouse have recently divorced.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
