History: Gerard hails from a village terrorized by brigands. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Gerard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.
