Through the years after Bertram was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Bertram's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Soapmaker for hire.

Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Roland isn't afraid of most anything. He has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Human unity. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world.
