Personality: Adelard hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his painting career. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. He has had some formal painting training, and achieved minor success. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He got into the Mason business at a young age. He found a children's book about a Human Expert who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. Personality: Charles is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Charles and his spouse have recently divorced.
