History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Tanner responsibilities is difficult.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes brigands are coming to abduct people. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: He was born into a rich family. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Gerald alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Everard was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
