History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. John was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Unemployed for the past few years.

History: When he was but 7 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Through the years after Roland was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Roland's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
