He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. Nicholas was born on a far southern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Cook. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
