He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends he is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy himself. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Raymond fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: Hubert hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
