History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Bertram was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Through the years after Bertram was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. History: Born to a Ruler, his father struggled to pay the bills. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered poetry. He has never given up on his poetry dream.

Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it
