He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Kody was born the youngest of three triplets. He found a children's book about a Human Warrior who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. During his travels, Kody and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Kody discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves.
