However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. Through the years after Kody was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Kody's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: He was born into a rich family. He always admired divine-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Aldous took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up lance and armor he uses now. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.
