History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. A gifted student he started as a Bellfounder, but he got bored and became a Layabout. He tends to his Layabout job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.
