History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Charles alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Bertram lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. When Bertram reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions.
