History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Like his father and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Cartwright. He now owns his own business.

History: He was born into a rich family. Nicholas was born on a far northern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Marshal. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He would rather hide behind his crafts than deal with other people.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has never given up on his writing dream.
