History: Shane was born in the west. At a young age he loved to build and create. Ostracized due to the divine powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. History: He got into the Scribe business at a young age. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He became a Scribe soon after.

Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Gerard's homeland. Gerard decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He was granted necromantic powers by his dying brother.
