History: Bertram was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Stableman hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bertram fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: He comes from a rich western family. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He was granted psionic powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: He uses money and sex appeal to get what he needs.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Manfred was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. After a long history of fighting, Manfred and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
