History: He got into the Merchant business at a young age. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Hubert alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and someone believes him a fraud
