History: Gerard was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Bard, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Bard in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.
