Description: This fat eastern man has a bulbous nose and usually wears his black robe and has his axe always slung over his shoulder. His skin is also unnaturally pale. He has done his best to style his golden hair to look like a famous performer. His eyes are likewise hazel. His teeth are yellowed and unaligned.

Personality: Bernard hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his singing career. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He has never given up on his singing dream.

Description: His left side is far more bruised and cut up than his other. He wears baggy grey pantaloons and a pastel scarf. He has moderate length red hair. His otherwise smooth face is marked with small tiny scars.

Personality: He shows great sympathy to all travelers. He's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. He disdains his fellow easterners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when goblins swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and revenge

Description: He is an attractive man, lean and moderately muscular. He is dressed in an above average manner. He wears his hair in dreadlocks. He has a dull look in his violet eyes.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally.

Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he wears many layers of old clothing at all times. With a patchy silver beard and wild silver hair. His eyes are amber and catlike.

Personality: He will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken his opponents. Despite his formidable combat skills he remains a coward. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Bellfounder hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Lance fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.

Description: He prefers to wear flannel. He carries with him a set of quarterstaffs, each one with a jet on the hilt. He only wears one on his belt and the other on his back. His blonde hair is slicked back into a classic pompadour. His eyes are likewise gray. His teeth are white and perfect.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Clerebold alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Clerebold fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Many gnolls want him driven away.
