History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He takes great joy in being the best Mason in town.

History: Born in the west to a Mason, Alex learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He worked as a nervous Mason and found it very stressful.
