Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when drow swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting drow, the young Gerald began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls.
