One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

He wears a shirt that is too small, which lets his gut show, with a ratty white coat over it. He has a long chestnut beard with little hanging trinkets. He has brown eyes.

Personality: Gerald wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Ranger, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... Further he is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the south were limited. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

He wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.

Personality: He has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. He is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with his big mouthed big gutted partner. His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: The child of a Painter, who enjoyed hunting, Don was taken on many hunting expeditions. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Personality: He is very quiet and rarely speaks above a whisper. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Henry was born in the north. At a young age he loved to build and create. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear.

Personality: He likes to fabricate stories about his past exploits and how crazy he is, but in actuality he is rather bland. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with his Map Maker father left him crippled. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: To end his boredom; and to find somewhere to settle down
