He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Actor hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Shane alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his poetry with anyone who is interested.

History: Ernest was born with his mother's beautiful face. He has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Ernest fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
