He saw the brutality and swore off his fighting aspirations, taking his younger brother on his back after seeing his parents die, and fled the country. He has dedicated himself to building a better village for his children.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg
