History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He moved out north to avoid the crime he committed. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He comes from a rich southern family. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. After months of barely getting by, Gilthur managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.

He will pursue extreme courses of action in the short term, confident that they cannot fail.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his mother. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Ahvain alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Ahvain was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.
