History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it
