History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Patrin was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
